Several Gallatin County businesses, including gyms, reopened on May 15, but are working to adhere by Phase 1 guidelines, Healthy Gallatin reported.

Gov. Steve Bullock issued reopening guidelines, which enforce strict social distancing in gyms and regular sanitation.

Gyms in the county will be required to operate with half of normal capacity, according to the Healthy Gallatin. Even with a limited capacity, six feet must be maintained at all times between gym-goers. It's encouraged by the guidelines to not congregate in exercise areas or locker rooms.

Hand sanitizer must also be provided in all gyms in addition to all shared equipment being sanitized regularly, Healthy Gallatin reported. It's also important for staff and clients to frequently wash their hands.

Gyms can offer classes and training sessions, but all must take place outdoors with no more than 10 participants. Social distancing will also be required for classes.

It's also required for gym employees to wear a face mask or covering, according to Healthy Gallatin. Customers aren't required to wear one, but are highly encouraged.
