WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02), delivered remarks at the Joint House and Senate Veterans’ Affairs Hearing titled: “Legislative Presentation of the Veterans of Foreign Wars & Multiple VSOs: PVA, WWP, NASDVA, MRC, BSF, IAVA, BVA, SWAN, SVA, AMVETS.”

During the hearing, Congressman Rosendale discussed potential new innovations for the VA healthcare system, focusing on empowering veterans to make healthcare choices that best suit their needs. He highlighted the importance of a personalized model that puts veterans in control, enabling them to be proactive about their health. Rosendale specifically mentioned the Veterans Access to Direct Primary Care Act, a bill he co-sponsors, as a means to achieve this goal.

"I am helping lead the charge on a bill that would establish a pilot program to allow veterans to receive a health savings account and use the money to obtain medical services through a direct primary care arrangement," said Rep. Rosendale. "The legislation would make it easier for veterans to see their doctor and spend money on preventive measures to improve their health before getting sick."

The legislation, co-sponsored by Rep. Chip Roy, aims to increase access to Direct Primary Care arrangements and Health Savings Accounts for veterans. It seeks to streamline the process of obtaining these services and enhance the care provided through the VA's community program. By incorporating Direct Primary Care arrangements and Health Savings Account dollars into the program, the bill offers a new, innovative treatment model for veterans, aiming to minimize bureaucratic hurdles within the VA healthcare system.
