WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) released a statement expressing his dissent against H. Res. 1102, the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024.

In his remarks, Rep. Rosendale criticized the passing of the $1.2 trillion spending bill, stating, "I'm just now leaving the Capitol after witnessing Republicans join with the Democrats in true uniparty fashion and pass yet another $1.2 trillion spending bill."

Highlighting his concerns about the bill's allocation of funds, Rep. Rosendale emphasized, "This bill funds the weaponization of government against us and spends more money than Nancy Pelosi did during her tenure." He also pointed out the comparatively lower amount of earmarks in the current package, stating, "If there's any high point it is that there was only $2 billion worth of earmarks inserted into this spending package, unlike the last that included $12 billion for the special interest spending and earmarks that were sandwiched in there."

Expressing his disappointment, Rep. Rosendale concluded, "It's a disgrace, this bill does nothing to secure our border and it continues to jeopardize the security of our nation."

Rep. Rosendale's opposition underscores the ongoing debate and division in Congress over government spending and policy priorities.
