The Montana Opioid Abatement Trust (MOAT), established by the Attorney General, is distributing funds from the National Opioid Abatement Settlements across the state. Butte-Silver Bow has been designated as one of nine metro regions to receive these funds.
A Local Opioid Settlement Committee for the Butte-Silver Bow Metro Region has been formed to review grant applications and recommend allocations to the MOAT Advisory Committee. The committee currently oversees $304,528 in available funding for year two, with an expected $336,607 available in July 2026 for year three. These funds are intended to support efforts focused on prevention, treatment, and recovery related to opioid misuse and addiction.
