Nearly 70 students and faculty from Carroll College participated in Service Saturday on November 22, volunteering at seven local organizations. The event was organized by the Hunthausen Center for Peace and Justice as part of the college’s commitment to community service.

Volunteers worked with groups such as Helena Food Share, Good Samaritans Thrift Store, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Family Promise, Beehive and Helena Pointe Rehabilitation Homes, and the Fair Trade Market. Another group prepared and served a meal at God’s Love.

The day began with prayer and breakfast before participants departed for their volunteer sites. After two and a half hours of service, they returned for pizza and helped set up the Giving Tree.

The Hunthausen Center expressed appreciation to all student volunteers: “The Hunthausen Center extends heartfelt thanks to all student volunteers for their commitment to serving the Helena community.”

Students interested in ongoing service opportunities are encouraged to contact hunthausencenter@carroll.edu or visit the Carroll Community Service page for more information about upcoming events.
