Carroll Men Seeking Senior Day Win Over Providence

The Carroll College Men’s Basketball team will take the court for the final time of the 2022-23 regular season on Saturday afternoon, hosting Providence at 4 p.m. in Helena.

The Fighting Saints (12-13, 6-8) will look to even up their record heading into the Frontier Conference tournament next week. Standing in their way is a Providence (13-14, 7-7) team that sits one spot in front of them in the standings.

The Argonauts have picked up two narrow wins in the first two meetings between the two schools this season, including a one point overtime win last month in Great Falls. Davien Harris-Williams has given the Saints trouble in the two Providence wins, averaging 34 points per game. Carroll will look to slow him down, and flip the outcome in the third and final meeting this year.

Today will be the final home game for two outstanding Carroll seniors, Brendan Temple (Castle Rock, Colo. / SR) and Jonny Hillman (Post Falls, Idaho / SR). The pair have been the undeniable locker room leaders for a young Saints squad this season, and have battled at each step of the way. Hillman has battled a leg injury, being forced to miss a large number of games on the season, but has been one of Carroll’s most productive players when he is on the floor. Temple has proven himself to be one of, if not the, best frontcourt players in the Frontier Conference, leading the league in rebounds per game (7.7) heading into the final contest of the season.

Unfortunately for the Saints, Providence holds the tiebreaker for seeding purposes via their two earlier wins in the series. The Saints, however, will be looking to lock up the fourth seed in the upcoming conference tournament with a win today.

Today’s game will be streamed live on The Fighting Saints Network, presented by Point S Tire & Auto Service, and live stats can be found HERE. Voice of the Saints, Nick Dietzen, and Gary Turcott will call the action live on Rewind 94.9 FM or online HERE.
