Congressman Troy Downing has recently highlighted several legislative actions on his official Twitter account, including the passage of his AI-WISE Act and developments regarding Native American housing and family support initiatives.
On January 20, 2026, Downing announced the unanimous passage of a bill supporting small businesses’ access to artificial intelligence resources. He stated, “Big win for Main Street Montana My AI-WISE Act passed the House floor unanimously, helping small businesses access the tools and resources they need to harness the power of artificial intelligence.”
The following day, Downing addressed efforts to combat housing issues in tribal communities. On January 21, 2026, he posted, “The Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act has been successful in combating the housing crisis in the tribal communities I represent. Thank you @SecretaryTurner for your commitment to working with Congress to reauthorize NAHASDA “ The Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act (NAHASDA) was first enacted in 1996 to streamline federal housing assistance for Native American tribes and is periodically reauthorized by Congress.
Later that same day, Downing referenced recent action by House Republicans related to family policy. In a tweet dated January 21, 2026, he wrote, “Ahead of the March for Life, @HouseGOP passed the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act. This bill is pro-life, pro-family, and pro-woman, ensuring states can continue supporting nonprofits that provide free medical care to mothers and families in need.” The March for Life is an annual event held in Washington D.C. advocating against abortion.
Downing represents Montana in Congress and regularly updates constituents on legislative developments affecting both state-level issues such as small business support and broader national topics like tribal housing assistance.
