Congressman Troy Downing, who represents Montana’s 2nd Congressional District, has announced his principal nominations for the United States Service Academies for 2025.

The nomination process is open each year to high school juniors and involves a detailed review of applicants. This year, Downing’s office received 19 applications from students across the district.

“The size and quality of this year’s applicant pool speak volumes of the patriotism and talent of Montana’s next generation,” said Congressman Downing. “I was proud to see so many young men and women from across the Second District take an interest in our Academies and in service to our country. I wish this year’s nominees and all of our applicants the best of luck in their future endeavors. You bring honor upon yourselves, your state, and your country.”

The following students have been named as principal nominees by Congressman Downing:

U.S. Naval Academy: Colton Bush, Billings West High School

U.S. Military Academy: William Wallace, Billings West High School

U.S. Air Force Academy: Anna Dewell, Joliet High School
