The Montana Republican Party has announced its support for a competitive primary process, emphasizing the party’s confidence in its broad slate of candidates aiming to represent the state. The party expressed gratitude to Representative Ryan Zinke and Senator Steve Daines for their service and extended best wishes for their future plans.
At this stage, the Montana Republican Party will not endorse any federal candidate, opting instead to allow voters to decide. The party encourages all candidates to present their positions to the public and highlight differences between Republican policies and those of Democrats and self-identified Independents.
A significant number of primaries for state legislative seats reflects a strong interest among Republicans in serving in public office and advancing the party’s legislative agenda at the state level. The party acknowledged the large pool of Republicans stepping forward as candidates.
“Montana voters know that beyond the primaries, there is a clear choice between Republican and Democratic governance; one path leads to lower taxes, less crime, and stronger families, and the other leads to higher taxes, more crime, and social decay,” said MTGOP Chairman Art Wittich.
The Montana Republican Party stated it is committed to supporting candidates selected by voters in November elections at both state and federal levels.
