No. 11 Carroll Women Send Off Seven Seniors, Host Providence

The No. 11 Carroll College Women’s Basketball team will host the University of Providence at 2 p.m. at the Carroll College PE Center in the final regular season game of the 2022-23 season.

The Fighting Saints (22-5, 13-1) clinched the outright Frontier Conference Championship a week ago, but will look to close out their year with one last win over Providence (15-12, 5-9) on Saturday afternoon in Helena.

It will be a bittersweet day for the Saints; a celebration of a tremendous season of work, but also the final regular season home game for one of the most decorated groups of seniors in program history.

Seven total seniors will play their final guaranteed game on their home court: Jamie Pickens, Sienna Swannack, Kamden Hilborn, Maddie Geritz, Genesis Wilkinson, Erica Nessan, and Rakaiah Grende. The group have experienced success very few in Carroll’s lineage have ever touched. Three conference championships in the last four years, NAIA tournament advancement, and program records that seem to be re-written each week.

Kamden Hilborn (Clancy, Mont. / SR) enters the game sitting at 499 career assists, needing just one more to reach the 500 plateau, a club that she alone belongs to as the program’s all time leader in assists.

Jamie Pickens (Helena, Mont. / SR) and Sienna Swannack (Nine Mile Falls, Wash. / GR) each joined the program’s 1,000 point club earlier this season, and are on the hunt for a deep postseason run.

Regardless of the outcome of this afternoon’s game, the Saints will hold the No. 1-seed in the upcoming Frontier Conference tournament in Great Falls next week.

A recognition of the seven seniors and their accomplishments will take place immediately following conclusion of the game, before the Men’s game tips off.

Today’s game will be streamed live on The Fighting Saints Network, presented by Point S Tire & Auto Service, and live stats can be found HERE. Voice of the Saints, Nick Dietzen, and Gary Turcott will call the action live on Rewind 94.9 FM or online HERE.
