Carroll College has received a $1,115,000 donation from the Simperman-Corette Foundation to upgrade security technology throughout its campus in Helena, Montana. The contribution will be used to install advanced surveillance cameras at important locations such as entry points, residence hall entrances and common areas, parking lots, and busy public spaces. This enhancement is intended to strengthen the college’s existing safety measures.
Roy W. Simperman, Jr., President of the Simperman-Corette Foundation, said, “Carroll’s strong sense of community has always stood out to our family. This investment reflects the values my parents lived every day and their belief in lifting others up. The Foundation is proud to help Carroll continue offering a safe and welcoming campus for everyone who comes here.”
The gift honors Roy F. Simperman and Diane Corette Simperman for their long-standing support of education and community involvement. Their families have a history of contributing to Carroll College through scholarships, academic fellowships, and facility improvements.
Dr. Jennifer Glowienka, Co-President of Carroll College, stated: “This generous gift from the Simperman-Corette Foundation builds on an already strong culture of care and safety at Carroll. We know how important Carroll College was to Roy and how deeply both he and Diane believed in helping others. This gift not only enhances our campus but also celebrates their enduring legacy of generosity, faith, and community.”
The college plans to involve students in new initiatives related to campus safety. These include forming a Student Safety Team and creating a Special Events Team focused on supporting large gatherings and emergency preparedness. Additionally, students, faculty, and staff are joining a committee that will help determine priorities for implementing the new security system.
Bishop Austin Vetter, Co-President of Carroll College, commented: “Carroll College is deeply grateful to the Simperman-Corette Foundation for its generosity and vision. This gift celebrates Roy and Diane’s lifelong commitment to philanthropy, which was rooted in their desire to help others. Their compassion and foresight continue to shape the life of our college and the strength of our Carroll community.”
