Celebrate this St. Patrick’s Day in the “most Irish place in the U.S.,” Butte, Montana! Join Butte Cares and participate in the Color Run! Walk, skip, run or jump through the course and navigate fun obstacles with your friends and family in this non-timed event. As you make your way around the Torger Oaas field, you will encounter color stations where you will be adorned with brilliantly colored powders. During the event there will also be food, music and activities.
St. Patrick’s Day celebrations are deeply rooted in Butte. Butte has a strong Irish history from its mining days. Thousands of Irish immigrants came to the area for copper mining and their cultural impact on Butte has not faltered since. Nearly a quarter of Butte’s population is of Irish decent. The St. Patrick’s Day festivities continue today in Historic Uptown Butte. Watch the parade and get a bite to eat or beverage from one of the street vendors or at one of Butte’s many fine eateries.
