Montana State University ranks in top third of universities worldwide, report says

Montana State University was ranked 547th, making it one of the top higher education institutions globally, according to a nationally recognized report.

U.S. News and World Report included the institution in its 2020 Best Global Universities rankings it released recently.

The U.S. News and World Report analyzed approximately 1,500 universities from 81 countries.

The report’s key rankings were based on academic research and reputation, according to the U.S. News and World Report website.

The university also ranked 214th for its number of “highly cited papers” that were among the top 1 percent cited.

Four of the Top 5 universities were based in the U.S. Harvard University claimed the top spot, followed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.

According to a news release published from the university, the school also ranked 239th in environment/ecology and 373rd  when it comes to plant and animal science.
