The Bozeman-Yellowstone International Airport has seen an 80% drop in visitors since the COVID-19 pandemic began interrupting travel plans domestically and internationally, according to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle.
One restaurant remains open for the few travelers that come through the airport. That restaurant handles takeout orders only, but visitors can sit at tables that have been spaced out to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
“We can make sure that we’re cleaning and sanitizing those tables after every customer," Brian Sprenger, director of the Bozeman-Yellowstone International Airport, told the paper.
Airport staff have been split into two groups, working in 14-day intervals.
Airlines are also trying to determine how to reduce flights to and from the airport.
“It’s a complicated thing to draw down an airline, because you have to account for maintenance cycles of the aircraft and where the crews are," Sprenger told the Daily Chronicle.
