Census Bureau: 3.3% of people in Beaverhead County identified as multiracial in 2021

Of the 9,391 citizens living in Beaverhead County in 2021, 96.7% said they were only one race, while 3.3% said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in June.

The most prevalent racial group among citizens in Beaverhead County who reported being of a single race in 2021 was white, comprising 93.5% or 8,779 individuals. Following them, American Indian or Alaska Native accounted for 1.2% and totaled 110 individuals.

The percentage of multiracial residents in Beaverhead County is 1.2% lower than the state average, which stands at 4.5%.
