WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) is urging the Senate to take immediate action to remove Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas. Rosendale's call comes after the House of Representatives transmitted their impeachment inquiry against Mayorkas to the Senate.
In a statement, Rep. Rosendale accused Secretary Mayorkas of grave misconduct, stating, "Secretary Mayorkas has deliberately violated his oath of office by aiding the invasion of millions of illegal aliens across our borders and allowing the transport of tons of deadly fentanyl into our nation." Rosendale further emphasized the severity of the situation by highlighting, "We have lost operational control of our southern border, and Mayorkas is undoubtedly the architect of this tragedy."
Rosendale made it clear that he believes the House has fulfilled its duty in addressing the issue, and now it is crucial for the Senate to act decisively. He asserted, "The House has done its part; now it's time for the Senate to do theirs and hold Mayorkas accountable. He must be removed from office!"
The call for Secretary Mayorkas's removal is part of a growing pressure on the Senate to address the situation at the Department of Homeland Security. The fate of Secretary Mayorkas now rests in the hands of the Senate as they deliberate on the impeachment inquiry brought forward by the House.
