WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) addressed the House floor to honor Charlie Dowd, Montana's last Pearl Harbor survivor. He also celebrated the passage of a bill to name the Butte VA clinic as the Charlie A. Dowd VA Clinic.
“Heroes like Charlie Dowd are what make America a beacon of hope here and abroad,” said Rep. Rosendale. “Naming the facility that provides care for thousands of veterans across the Treasure State in Charlie’s honor would be a worthy accolade for his bravery and service to our great nation. Charlie Dowd devoted his life to defending our freedoms, serving our veterans, and strengthening Montana communities.”
On March 14, 2024, Rep. Rosendale signed a letter to Senate and House leadership supporting this legislation. On May 3, 2024, he applauded the passage of a Senate bill to rename the Department of Veterans Affairs clinic in Butte, Montana as the Charlie A. Dowd VA Clinic.
