WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) released a statement following the resignation of Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle due to security failures that nearly resulted in an assassination attempt on President Donald Trump on July 13, 2024.

“While I am pleased that Director Cheatle has taken responsibility for the dreadful failures of the Secret Service, we still must have a complete investigation to identify the problems and make sure this never happens again,” said Rep. Rosendale.

On July 17, 2024, Congressman Rosendale called for the resignation of Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle and questioned why President Biden did not do the same.
