Lt. Governor Kristen Juras will participate in a Pinwheels for Prevention event at the Capitol's north lawn on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at noon. She will be joined by Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) Director Adam Meier and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana (BCBSMT) Vice President of External Affairs John Doran.

The annual event involves the 'planting' of bright blue pinwheels, which are part of a national public awareness campaign. The pinwheel symbolizes childhood and conveys the message that every child deserves to grow up in a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment.

This event is part of Strengthening Families Month activities happening throughout April and coincides with the Week of the Young Child from April 2-8.

Montanans are encouraged to wear blue during April and share their photos on Facebook using #GoBlue to support families and prevent child abuse and neglect.
