Governor Greg Gianforte announced that Montana has been selected for the 2023 DON’T QUIT campaign by the National Foundation for Governors’ Fitness Councils (NFGFC). The campaign, led by Jake Steinfeld, will award state-of-the-art DON’T QUIT Fitness Centers to three elementary or middle schools in Montana. This initiative has previously been implemented in forty-two states.

Governor Gianforte emphasized the importance of physical activity, stating, “Getting and staying active is essential to leading a healthy, productive life.” He expressed enthusiasm about Montana's participation in the campaign and encouraged schools to apply.

Jake Steinfeld highlighted his long-standing advocacy for physical activity as a means to combat childhood obesity. He noted, “Exercise has also been proven to provide a positive effect on a child’s mental health as well.” Steinfeld commended Governor Gianforte for supporting the DON’T QUIT vision.

Eligible schools in Montana can apply for the program until March 26, 2023. The winning schools will be announced later this year.
