Montana prepares to honor its centenarians at upcoming Governor's Conference on Aging

The Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) is preparing to honor Montana centenarians at the 53rd annual Governor’s Conference on Aging, scheduled for October 4-5, 2022. The event will be held at the Copper King Convention Center in Butte, with an option for virtual attendance. A luncheon dedicated to centenarians will commence at noon on October 4.

DPHHS invites Montanans who are or will be 100 years old by December 31, 2022, to submit their names and brief profiles. "Honoring Montana centenarians is such an important piece of the Governor’s Conference on Aging," stated DPHHS Director Charlie Brereton. "I encourage Montanans to submit the requested information so we can honor as many centenarians as possible."

Each centenarian who provides their details will receive a framed certificate from Governor Greg Gianforte.

Centenarians or their representatives are urged to send the required information by September 15, 2022, to ensure recognition. Submissions can be mailed to:

Alternatively, submissions can be emailed to Nichole Thennis at Nichole.Thennis@mt.gov or submitted online through Honoring Montana’s Centenarians website.

Established in 1968, the annual Governor’s Conference on Aging aims to provide information and education for older citizens, their families, and caregivers. The conference addresses issues related to aging and disabilities.
