Three Carroll Student-Athletes Honored with Weekly Frontier Awards

The Frontier Conference has announced the selections of their weekly Player of the Week awards. Three Carroll College student-athletes have been recognized for their weekly achievements.

Andrew Cook was selected as the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference’s Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Cook is a 6-foot-4 sophomore from Huntington Beach, Calif.

Carroll went 2-0 for the week. The Saints won on the road, edging Montana Western 85-81 and winning at home, beating No. 12 Montana Tech 84-77.

Cook averaged 27.5 points, three rebounds and four assists per game. He was 19 of 29 from the field (66 percent) and 17 of 19 (90 percent) from free throw line. His 31 points in the win over Montana Western was a career high.

Maddie Geritz of Carroll College was selected as the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference’s Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Geritz is a 6-foot-2 redshirt senior forward from Boise, Idaho.

Carroll went 2-0 for the week. At home, the Saints beat Montana Tech 72-46 and on the road, won at No. 12 Montana Western 72-60.

Geritz averaged 14 points, six rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. She was 11 of 16 from field (69 percent) and 5 of 7 free throws. She accomplished this in limited playing time, averaging 23.5 minutes per game.

Brett Glaser of Carroll College was selected as the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference’s Men’s Indoor Field Student-Athlete of the Week.

Glaser, a senior from Glasgow, Mont., is the field athlete of the week. At the 2023 Bobcat Challenge hosted by Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont., Glaser took first in the men’s heptathlon with a national qualifying score of 4,597 points.
