On January 13, 2026, Downing highlighted constituent services achievements: “It hasn’t been two weeks, and my team is already delivering results for MT-02. In 2026 alone, we have returned nearly $60,000 to Central and Eastern Montanans, and we’re not slowing down! https://t.co/neygdRwcCm”.
Downing assumed office as U.S. Representative for Montana’s newly redrawn second congressional district at the start of the 119th Congress in January 2025. The Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office serves Helena and surrounding areas in western Montana. Appropriations bills are annual legislation through which Congress allocates federal funding to government agencies and programs.
