DREW TURIANO FOR CONGRESS: Gyms, Movie Theaters In Montana Can Reopen May 15.

Z

DREW TURIANO FOR CONGRESS issued the following announcement on May 7.

Governor Steve Bullock May 7 announced gyms, movie theaters and museums may reopen beginning next Friday, May 15, with limited capacity and new requirements for social distancing and sanitation.

These businesses were previously not included in phase one of the governor’s reopening plan.

Bullock’s revised plan says gyms, fitness studios and pools that open next week must operate at half-capacity. Staff and guests will be required to stay six-feet apart, sanitation must happen frequently and indoor group classes will not be allowed. Masks are strongly encouraged.

Movie theaters and museums opening under this new timeline must also limit capacity to 50 percent and sanitize frequently touched surfaces every two hours.

Interactive exhibits and live performance theaters will remain closed, as will bowling alleys and concert and bingo halls.

The state's gradual reopening still limits groups to ten or fewer people when physical distancing isn’t possible. At-risk people should stay home. Travelers coming into the state are still required to self-quarantine for 14 days.
