Reconstruction at Nixon Bridge has forced the closure of the boat ramp at Gallatin Forks Fishing Access Site (FAS), Montana.gov announced via its website on July 10.
The FAS has been closed since July 13 and will remain closed for the remainder of construction, which is currently set to go through September. Visitors can walk into the site on the east side at Yadon Road.
Temporary closures at the Gallatin River could also take place during the reconstruction period, but all closures will only happen where construction is taken place in order to keep the public safe.
A proposal has been issued to close that part of the river. Residents will be able to share their thoughts at an upcoming meeting, according to the release.
Montana’s Fishing Access Sites Field Guide also has information on other access options at all regional offices of Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks. There are also resources at fwp.mt.gov.
