Graduates earn 432 degrees, certificates from The University of Montana-Western

About 38 percent of the 432 degrees and certificates handed out by The University of Montana-Western in 2017-18 were to students in education programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Dillon conferred 91 bachelor's degrees and 60 associate's degrees in education programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in general studies. Data shows the school gave out 118 associate's degrees in general studies, followed by 45 bachelor's degrees in general business administration and management and 44 bachelor's degrees in elementary education and teaching.

The university enrolled 1,508 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
