92 percent of applicants to Montana Tech of the University of Montana were admitted for fall 2018

At Montana Tech of the University of Montana, 75 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 65 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Butte enrolled 1,844 students in fall 2018, including 1,591 in undergraduate and 253 in graduate programs, data shows. 7.5 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

79 percent of undergraduates are residents of Montana, and 18 percent are residents of other states. 3 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (76 percent) and American Indian or Alaska Native (2 percent).

The school admitted 92 percent of the 691 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 42 percent enrolled.
