In response to the ongoing security crisis at the southern border, Congressman Matt Rosendale from Montana has announced that he will not vote to fund the government until the border is fully secured. Rep. Rosendale expressed his concerns about the situation, blaming the "America Last policies of President Biden and Sec. Mayorkas" for the current state of affairs. He emphasized the need for Congress to take decisive action to address the border issue.

The statistics paint a grim picture of the situation at the southern border. In December alone, a staggering 302,000 illegal immigrants crossed into the United States from Mexico. This record-breaking influx of individuals has highlighted the urgency of the matter and the need for immediate action.

To address this crisis, Rep. Rosendale reintroduced the Secure America's Borders First Act in 2023. This legislation aims to compel President Biden to prioritize border security by building a wall and establishing effective control before any additional taxpayer dollars are allocated overseas. By focusing on securing the border, Rep. Rosendale aims to prevent further incursions and protect American taxpayers' interests.

The congressman has been actively working to combat the open-border policies of the Biden administration. He voted in favor of the Secure the Border Act, which sought to put an end to these policies. Additionally, Rep. Rosendale joined forces with Rep. Biggs and 33 other colleagues on a resolution to impeach DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for his alleged dereliction of duty in allowing the invasion at the southern border to occur.

Recognizing the importance of states taking control of immigration law enforcement, Rep. Rosendale co-sponsored the State Border Defense Act. This legislation empowers states to carry out immigration law independently, without having to rely solely on the Biden administration. By granting states this authority, Rep. Rosendale believes it will help expedite the process of securing the border and ensuring the safety of American citizens.

Despite his concerns, Rep. Rosendale has demonstrated a commitment to addressing the issue by voting in favor of the DHS appropriations bill. This bill allocates $2 billion for physical barriers and provides funding for an additional 22,000 border patrol agents. These resources will play a crucial role in fortifying the border and deterring further illegal immigration.

In conclusion, Rep. Rosendale's refusal to vote for government funding until the border is secured underscores the gravity of the situation at the southern border. With a record number of illegal immigrants crossing into the United States, urgent action is needed to protect American citizens and prevent further incursions. Through his legislative efforts and support for border security measures, Rep. Rosendale is advocating for a comprehensive approach to combat the ongoing crisis.
