WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) has spoken out against the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act of 2024, voting against the bill and expressing concerns about its potential impact.
In a statement released after the vote, Rep. Rosendale criticized the bill for its provisions that could lead to benefits being given to illegal aliens and the distribution of government handouts without work requirements. He also expressed his disappointment with the process by which the bill was brought to the floor, stating, "A bad process produces a bad product."
Highlighting the lack of discussion and debate on the floor, Rep. Rosendale drew a comparison to Groundhog Day, where the rules of the House of Representatives were suspended to force a vote on the legislation. He expressed his concern that this bill could expose taxpayers to billions, or even trillions, of dollars in additional support for illegal aliens.
With his vote against the bill, Rep. Rosendale is making a stand against what he sees as fiscal irresponsibility and a disregard for the concerns of the American people. By voicing his opposition, he is sending a message that he will not support legislation that he believes does not prioritize the needs and interests of American citizens.
