Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) recently participated in the House Natural Resources Federal Lands Subcommittee Budgetary Hearing, which focused on "Examining the President’s FY 2025 Budget Request for the Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service." During this hearing, he expressed concerns about the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) actions that he believes are compromising Montana's way of life.
Rep. Rosendale stated, “The BLM plays a vital role in the management and facilitation of our land out in the West, especially in Montana, where BLM land comprises nearly a third of our state.” He went on to criticize the current administration for what he perceives as harmful trends in BLM's land management decisions.
“However, under the current radical administration, we've witnessed a harmful trend where BLM’s land management decisions are working against the very communities and residents the agency is meant to serve. Whether it's the lack of leasing opportunities, the war being waged against the coal industry, or the ongoing efforts to restrict access to Montana's productive lands, it's clear to me that despite being from our great state Director Stone-Manning and her agency's priorities are at complete odds with what is in the best interests of Montana,” Rep. Rosendale said.
