Today, the House of Representatives commenced deliberations on the Fiscal Year 2025 Military, Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act. Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) introduced Amendment 63 and provided testimony in its support.

"All life has inherent value, and genetic testing nearly guarantees the creation and destruction of embryos in the pursuit of the 'perfect' child," said Rep. Rosendale. "There are millions of children in need of parents who would love to be adopted. I would rather have the VA spend these funds to make it easier for veterans to adopt children."

Amendment 63 aims to prohibit funds allocated by this Act from being used for certain types of assisted reproductive technologies by the Department of Veterans Affairs, ensuring additional safeguards are implemented.
