Today, Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) voted against H.R. 8774 - Department of Defense Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2025. While the appropriations bill includes provisions aimed at enhancing military effectiveness and providing a pay raise for service members, Rep. Rosendale opposed it due to its allocation of funds for IVF procedures using taxpayer dollars.
"While my heart aches for couples struggling to conceive children, taxpayer dollars should not go towards funding the practice of IVF, which destroys more children each year than Planned Parenthood," said Rep. Rosendale. "Without a second thought, our military servicemembers deserve the resources to carry out their missions and live healthy lives. However, as someone who strongly believes that life begins at conception, I cannot in good conscience vote for a bill that funds a practice that destroys, abandons, and allows hundreds of thousands of innocent lives to be experimented on. Congress must utilize the appropriations process to stop taxpayer funding from being used to kill children!"
