Today, Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) introduced the Veterans Gun Rights Protection Act of 2024 in Washington, D.C. The proposed legislation aims to allow veterans, staff, and visitors to carry firearms within Department of Veterans Affairs facilities.
“No veteran should face the risk of not receiving medical care because they are simply exercising their Second Amendment right,” said Rep. Rosendale. “Veterans laid their lives on the line to defend the Constitution; stripping those rights from them because they walk in a government building is heinous and unjust. The rights of our veterans must be protected!”
The bill has garnered co-sponsorship from several representatives including Rep. Good (VA-05), Rep. Breechen (OK-02), Rep. Boebert (CO-03), Rep. Babin (TX-36), Rep. Moore (AL-02), Rep. Norman (SC-05), Rep. Clyde (GA-09), Rep. Crane (AZ-02), and Rep. Ogles (TN-05).
