Today, Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) voted in favor of H.R. 8771 - Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2025. The legislation aims to combat the flow of fentanyl and other illicit drugs into the U.S., save millions by eliminating U.S. funding for the United Nations’ regular budget, and prohibit American taxpayer dollars from going towards the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the EcoHealth Alliance, or any gain-of-function research.
“American’s money should be spent making our country safer, not funding globalist organizations and dangerous research which can result in global pandemics,” said Rep. Rosendale. “While a $7.6 billion cut from last year’s allocation is a great start, there are still plenty of places where money is going that is completely unnecessary. I hope future appropriations will continue to rein in spending and reduce taxpayer dollars going abroad.”
