Carroll College Theatre has announced its spring 2025 productions, which will be held in the FLEX Theatre at the Carroll College Campus Center. The theatre will present two plays in non-traditional settings that bring audiences close to the performances.

The first production, "Untitled Calamity Jane Play" by Kati Frazier, will run from February 21 to March 2. Performances are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2:30 pm. This play is an eighty-minute show followed by live music, dancing, and a cash bar hosted by Headwaters Taphouse. The FLEX Theatre will transform into a Wild West saloon with rustic tables and bar seating for an immersive experience.

This comedic play takes place in Deadwood, South Dakota, focusing on the legendary sharpshooter Calamity Jane. It divides her character into two parts—Calamity and Jane—and examines the truths and exaggerations of her past adventures. Tickets include drink vouchers and live music cover charges for evening performances. Prices range from $9 to $20 depending on age group and performance day.

The second production is "Suzette Who Set to Sea" by Australian playwright Finegan Kruckemeyer, running from April 4 to April 13. Showtimes are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2:30 pm with an approximate runtime of one hour.

Set in a seaside village where traditional roles dictate that men build boats while women do not, young Suzette defies norms as she longs for life at sea. When a mysterious event occurs, she must prove herself worthy of her destiny by setting sail with her loved ones on a boat she secretly built. This family-friendly play features themes of bravery and destiny through object puppetry, sea monsters, whimsy, and fun.

Tickets can be purchased online via Booktix or at the door starting one hour before each performance begins.
