WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) honored hard-working farmers and ranchers throughout America on the House Floor in celebration of Montana and National Ag week.

In his address, Congressman Rosendale emphasized the importance of agriculture, stating, "Food security is national security and across the treasure state and the country farmers work tirelessly to keep food supply safe and plentiful, so we don't have to rely on foreign nations to sustain our population. Agriculture isn't just an industry in Montana- it's our way of life."

Highlighting the significant economic contribution of the agricultural sector, Congressman Rosendale added, "It contributes an average of $5.2 billion a year to the economy. Producers' hard work, dedication, and resilience playing an essential role in feeding our communities, sustaining our economy, and managing our land. While Ag production is a vital industry, it doesn't come without its challenges."

Addressing key initiatives, Congressman Rosendale called for securing a strong crop insurance program and passing the Land and National Defense Act to protect farmland from foreign entities. He urged Congress to include these measures in the upcoming Farm Bill to support agricultural producers and demonstrate unwavering commitment to their well-being.

In closing, Congressman Rosendale expressed gratitude for the dedication of agricultural producers, stating, "Ag producers deserve recognition for the work they do to take care of our great nation."
