WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) voted against the adoption of the Rule that provides for the consideration of legislation that would send aid to Ukraine, Taiwan, Israel, and a massive bill that includes the REPO Act to the House floor. After having passed today, this rule will sidestep House Republican Conference Rules that require bills be single subject and instead paves the way to send a single $100 billion spending package to the Senate.
"We agreed as a conference last year that we would only send bills to the Senate that had a single subject," said Rep. Rosendale. "Allowing the Rule to pass that tied these bills together into a spending behemoth not only goes against our agreement but will wrongly tie aid for our allies in Israel and Taiwan to aid for Ukraine. All of this without a single penny to safeguard our disastrous, lawless, and deadly southern border."
