Montana's Departments of Labor & Industry and Public Health and Human Services have issued guidance for the implementation of HB 702. This law, enacted by the Montana Legislature and signed by Governor Greg Gianforte, prohibits discrimination based on vaccination status or possession of an immunity passport in Montana.
"This guidance will help Montana employers and businesses stay in compliance with the law and help ensure that Montanans do not face discrimination due to their vaccine status," stated Laurie Esau, Montana Commissioner of Labor & Industry.
DPHHS Director Adam Meier emphasized the importance of adherence to HB 702, stating, "DPHHS urges compliance with HB 702 and stands ready to help our providers, provider associations, and other partners navigate the law." He also expressed appreciation for efforts made by partners to prevent discrimination based on vaccination status.
To assist employers and businesses, a frequently asked questions document is available on the Department of Labor & Industry’s Employment Relations Division website. Additional guidance for care providers can be found in a memorandum from the Department of Public Health and Human Services.
