The Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) is set to honor Montana centenarians at the 54th annual Governor’s Conference on Aging. The event will be held on October 3, 2023, at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Great Falls, with a special noon luncheon dedicated to these individuals.

Montanans who are turning 100 by December 31, 2023, or those already over this age milestone are invited to submit their names and brief profiles for recognition. "This is an excellent opportunity to honor Montana centenarians and to celebrate their lives," stated DPHHS Director Charlie Brereton. He encouraged residents to provide the necessary information so they can be acknowledged.

Each centenarian who submits their details will receive a framed certificate from Governor Greg Gianforte as part of the recognition process. Submissions should be made by September 15, 2023, either through mail or email. Information can also be submitted online via the Honoring Montana’s Centenarians website.

The Governor’s Conference on Aging was established in 1968 to provide education and resources for older citizens, their families, and caregivers. The conference attracts elderly attendees, persons with disabilities, caregivers, service providers, and vendors sharing relevant information on aging and disability issues.

Registration for the conference is currently open. Further details about registration can be found on the conference website or by calling toll-free at 1-800-332-2272 or (406) 444-4077 for local inquiries.
