Washington, D.C. - Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) has voted against the Senate Amendment to H.R. 2872, the Further Additional Continuing Appropriations and Other Extensions Act, 2024. Rosendale opposes the bill because it lacks provisions to strengthen border security and instead increases spending for the Biden, Pelosi, and D.C. Cartel's Radical Leftist agenda.

In a video statement, Rosendale explains his decision, saying, "Unfortunately, the House of Representatives just passed another CR to continue Nancy Pelosi's budget and Joe Biden's policies, which include wokeness in our military, the funding of the alphabet agencies that are weaponized against every one of us - the IRS, the ATF, the DOJ - and also the new green deal provisions that have enriched the left throughout the last couple of years."

Rosendale also highlights the dire situation at the border, stating, "Meanwhile, our border is left without any additional security, as you can see over my shoulder, the border is in worse shape now than it has ever been and Biden continues his administration to see new records with the amount of illegals entering into our country."

The Congressman's opposition to the bill stems from his belief that it will only contribute to the country's growing debt. He expresses his concern over the lack of measures to strengthen border security and the allocation of funds towards policies he disagrees with.

In addition to his vote against the bill, Rosendale has cosponsored Congressman Andy Biggs's (AZ-05) Funding a Secure America Act. This act would have provided full funding for various essential services, including military servicemembers, CBP and ICE personnel performing border security and enforcement functions, TSA, Air traffic controllers, and Veteran's Affairs staff.

While Rosendale's opposition did not sway the majority, it is important to note his concerns regarding the bill's impact on the country's economy and border security. As the debate around appropriations continues, it remains to be seen how these concerns will be addressed.
