Congressman Matt Rosendale of Montana recently appeared on The Bottom Line on Fox Business to shed light on the failures of green energy. The interview followed Rosendale's social media post showcasing a wind farm in Judith Gap, Montana, where every windmill had come to a halt due to the extreme temperature of -30 degrees.

During the interview, Rosendale discussed the dangers of relying solely on green energy and the need for backup sources. He cited a previous incident where a cold front from the Arctic caused wind energy to cease operating from the Canadian border to Texas, leading to broken pipes, destroyed homes, and a near collapse of the power grid. He emphasized the impact of rolling blackouts in different regions, stating, "A rolling blackout in San Diego or Los Angeles in August is uncomfortable. A rolling blackout in Montana in January or February is deadly."

Rosendale also highlighted the inefficiency of wind farms, stating that even the most efficient ones operate at only 40% of their full capacity. He stressed the necessity of having alternative sources like coal and natural gas to provide reliable and efficient energy. He explained, "You only need a four function calculator to tell you that nearly 60% of the time they're not going be at full capacity, you have to have something else there, and coal is very reliable, it's very efficient, and that is the way to go."

Regarding natural gas, Rosendale acknowledged its lower BTUs compared to coal but highlighted its advantage in being able to ramp up and down quickly. He criticized renewables as a "great big boondoggle for the Democrat party" and accused them of benefiting financially at the expense of taxpayers.
