WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) stood firm in his decision to vote against the Rule for H.R. 7888 that would permit the continuation of warrantless surveillance of American citizens. In a statement, Rep. Rosendale emphasized his stance, saying, "I will not vote to support warrantless surveillance of American citizens." He further criticized the current FISA legislation, highlighting that it allows the government to collect and analyze information about Americans without warrants, which he considers a violation of Constitutional protections.

Rep. Rosendale expressed concerns about the actions of the security and intelligence community, pointing out their track record of overstepping boundaries. He stated, "The security/intelligence community has already demonstrated their disregard for the law as proven by the nearly 300,000 improper searches on American citizens." Calling for accountability, Rep. Rosendale concluded, "We must stop this abuse of power!"

The debate over FISA rules and surveillance practices continues to be a contentious issue in Congress, with lawmakers like Rep. Rosendale advocating for stricter oversight and adherence to Constitutional rights.
