The Helena Fire Department will host a public ceremony on Friday, June 28, to celebrate its new Type 3 Wildland Fire Truck. The event will take place at Fire Station 1, located at 300 Neill Avenue, starting at 3 p.m.

The ceremony is a common tradition among fire departments and is known as a push-in ceremony. It includes the washing of the vehicle before slowly rolling the truck backward into the station with members of the community symbolically pushing.

Attendees will have an opportunity to explore the engine at the start of the event.
