Fifteen Montana communities are being awarded a $511,000 federal grant to share through the Community Development Block Grant Program. | Pixabay
Fifteen Montana communities are being awarded a $511,000 federal grant to share through the Community Development Block Grant Program, according to the Montana Department of Commerce.
The grants will be used to help the communities support planning activities for development projects and infrastructure in the communities, according to a press release from the state.
“Planning lays the foundation to build vibrant, healthy and prosperous communities,” Jennifer Olson, Community Development Administrator at Commerce, said in the press release. “These grants will support Montana counties, cities and towns as they plan for community infrastructure projects, develop and preserve affordable homes and create and retain jobs.”
Communities that will receive part of the grant include: Beaverhead County; City of Boulder; City-County of Butte-Silver Bow; City of Choteau; Town of Circle; City of Columbus; Fergus County; City of Hamilton; City of Helena; Lewis and Clark County; City of Libby; Madison County; Missoula County; Petroleum County; and the Town of Philipsburg.
